Source International 2025 Impact Report is now online

< Back to News

Our 2025 Impact Report is now available online: a comprehensive overview of the work carried out over the past year to investigate, document, and address environmental injustices worldwide.

In 2025, Source International operated across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, combining environmental monitoring, citizen science, legal advocacy, and community engagement. From documenting contamination linked to mining activities in Peru and the Democratic Republic of Congo, to investigating the environmental impacts of conflict in Lebanon, and advancing education and community-based projects in Italy, our work continues to bridge scientific evidence, human rights, and action on the ground.

Key highlights include:

  • environmental monitoring campaigns in high-risk contexts such as DRC, Indonesia, and Ecuador
  • contribution to the development of international guidelines on environmental crimes
  • education and citizen science projects in Italy, engaging hundreds of students and citizens
  • strengthening local networks and supporting legal and advocacy processes

Throughout the year, we also contributed to international initiatives on business and human rights and participated in global forums, bringing scientific evidence into decision-making spaces.

The report reflects not only what has been achieved, but also the vision that drives our work: building environmental and social accountability through independent data, field-based research, and collaboration with affected communities.

As our founder Flaviano Bianchini writes: “When I began this journey 13 years ago, I could never have imagined where we would be today. It has been an extraordinary journey. We have fought tirelessly every single day. We lost many battles, but we won far more, and today we are still here, standing on the frontline of the global fight for environmental and social justice!”.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, and to all those who will join us in the future. There is still so much work ahead and many more years to come.
