Source International is going to realize a new Project in Perù, in the mining city of Cerro de Pasco, in the Peruvian Andes on water quality monitoring with students.

The aim of the project is to empower youth of Cerro de Pasco against water pollution, through scientific monitoring competences and the establishment of a Youth Forum.

Involve communities on scientific topics is fundamental to open a dialogue with local authorities in order to address their proposals for new concrete prevention and restorative suggestions.

The Youth Forum is like a dialogue space for young to share water quality assessment across time and to strengthen their voice and actions to advocate for new local politics that need to be more inclusive and sustainable for environment and health's communities.

We will train 30 secondary school students, 6 teachers on how to measure water quality and how to samples water to laboratory test. We will use some heavy metals detection kits and multiparameter probes.

After that, a specific training will be imparted on how to analyze, systematize data and how to edit a scientific report and finally how to share scientific data.

The project is financed by the international organization Action.
